Requirements and criteria for registering a Botswana company
in accordance with the Companies Act, 2003

- A minimum investment of P250 000.00 is required according to the minimum investments code
- Transfer of technology to Botswana and actively developing skills of Batswana in all levels
- Business licenses are granted subject to applicants producing evidence that they have funds available for
- Localization programs allowing for non-citizens to held positions to be localized in a agreed period
- Investors are encouraged to establish joint ventures with citizens and citizen-owned companies
- Every Botswana Registered Company is obliged to have a
resident Director (living in Botswana).
Companies Act ,2003 is also providing for the formation of Close
Corporation with a limit of 7 members.
The following information is needed for every shareholder and director of the company is needed at registration
- Certified copies of Omang or passport (Non-Citizens)
- Certified copies of work and residence permits (Non-Citizens)
- Proof of residential address
